Teamo Universities: Meet the Captains

Organising a group of university students is no mean feat. Arranging fixtures & training, reminding players, dealing with availability, sponsors and so on can be a really daunting task for anyone.

Here are a few of our favourite university captains that have used teamo to make these tasks that little bit easier...

Meet Yumann

Yumann is a Treasurer at King's College Hockey - managing 40+ players in 3 teams.

teamo simplifies Yumann's comms

Yumann had been struggling to keep up with the many message threads across multiple channels to organise fixtures, training and socials. teamo has simplified her club's communications.

We previously used Facebook to organise availability and social events. Having a separate app which isn't an email either is helpful as we don't lose track of club events in the midst of all other Facebook and email updates.

Say hi to Neil

Neil is President of University of Liverpool Mens Rugby Union Club, running 5 student teams with 120+ members.

Neil uses teamo to manage availability, injuries and absences for him

Before finding teamo, Neil and his team captains found it frustrating to organise teams and work out who was available for selection each week so they decided to give teamo a try.

We moved from a club that largely uses Facebook for its communications and the ease of Teamo for notifying injuries, absences and availability has made it irreplaceable!

Alongside, helping to keep track of player updates and availability, teamo has saved Liverpool Men's Rugby team valuable time.

teamo has solved a huge issue for us, it saves us lots of time messaging players and organising training, matches and socials each week.

Not only are Liverpool Uni Rugby committee finding the app helpful, but their players are also enjoying using the app.

Our players love the app, it is vastly becoming our main point of communication. Our players find it quick, easy, user friendly and helpful. University lads are hard to organise and schedule, this app places it at their fingertips, and blends into their everyday lives.

And Dan...

Dan and his 5 team captains manage 5 teams at University of Warwick Cricket Club.

Teamo helps Dan to plan ahead for sessions and matches

Last year, the biggest issue for Warwick University Cricket Club was trying to work out availability for each training session and match. This was a real issue as not knowing numbers made it hard to plan sessions and prepare for matches.

Teamo has been really helpful so far this year as we have been able to invite each squad to a training session and they have had to reply with whether they are going or not. This has allowed us to get an exact number of who can attend and this has made planning and the running of all our sessions and matches much easier.

We also asked Dan about his favourite teamo features:

The fact it is so easy to invite an entire squad to an event, or create a group chat without individually adding them all is very helpful. Having a support team chat with teamo is also really helpful for any issues

What do Dan's members think of teamo?

Sean Merriman (Friendlies Captain),

I've found Teamo really useful in regards to being able to see who exactly is turning up to training and other events and why people can't, it's a great and easy way to organise my team

Mihir Chandraker (1st XI Captain),

It has been really useful to see who is coming to each session as it makes it much easier to plan sessions, plus Teamo asks each player why they can't make it if they cannot and this is preventing people dropping out for 'easy' reasons.

Jacob Roche (Squad member),

The app has been really useful to keep me informed of club events and training as at university can be easy to forget when sessions are running.
