Answers to common questions about Match Day. For step-by-step help, see Record a netball match and Hockey and football: subs, cards and the clock.
What is Match Day?
A tool in Teamo for recording a match as it happens. You tap players on and off, and it works out everyone's minutes. At full time you get each player's court or pitch time, the score, the scorers and, in hockey, the cards.
Where do I find it?
Open the fixture in Teamo, then Manager tools, then Match Day (marked “New · in beta”).
I can't see Match Day on my fixture.
Check that:
- you're a coach or team admin for the team (players and parents don't see it)
- the event is a Fixture, not a training session or social
- your club's sport is netball, hockey or football
Do I need to set anything up?
No. Match Day uses the squad you selected for the fixture. The first time, it asks how many a side your team plays, and it remembers that for the team on that phone.
It says nobody is selected.
Select your squad on the fixture first (Selection Manager, or the Team Sheet), then open Match Day again.
Which sports and formats?
- Netball: seven named positions.
- Hockey: 7-a-side and 11-a-side, with green, yellow and red cards.
- Football: small-sided and 11-a-side.
How is “fair share” worked out?
It's the playing time so far divided equally across your squad. Players below it are shown as owed time, and the bench is sorted least-played first.
I made a mistake.
Every change has an Undo straight after it. If you walked away and the clock kept running, Match Day asks how long the break was and takes it off.
Can I stop the clock?
Yes. Use Stop clock for an injury or a delay. Card countdowns freeze too. Restart clock carries on.
How do cards work (hockey)?
Tap Card, then the player, then the card:
- Green: 2 minutes.
- Yellow: 5 minutes.
- Red: the rest of the match.
The player's place stays empty while the card runs. When a green or yellow card ends, they're back on automatically. Time on a card doesn't count as pitch time.
Football cards?
Match Day records cards for hockey only.
What if I lose signal?
Keep going. Match Day records on the phone and sends everything once you're back online.
Can two coaches use it on the same match?
A second phone can open a match the first phone is recording and see it. Only one phone should record a match. If two phones start the same match, Match Day spots it and stops, so nobody's minutes are counted twice.
Where does the result go?
Onto the fixture: the score, who scored (with the minute), and cards. It then shows on the event page, in players' season stats and on your club website.
⚠️ Don't forget to save. On the full-time summary, tap Save to the fixture. That puts the score, scorers and cards on the fixture.
If the fixture already has a different score, Match Day asks before replacing it.
I saved, but I can't see the score on the fixture.
Teamo shows a fixture's score once its start time has passed. A result saved before kick-off time appears after it.
Does Match Day message players or parents?
No. Nothing Match Day records sends a notification or an email.
Can parents see their child's minutes?
Not today. The result, scorers and cards show on the fixture, and minutes are for the coach.
