A season for a 300-member hockey club, on Pitchero and on Teamo
A 300-member hockey club with a junior section: 22 teams (12 adult sides and 10 junior squads). 150 adults pay £180 subs and 150 juniors pay £120. 120 adult players pay a £6 match fee for 21 league matches from September to March, three a month: 2,520 match fees a season. Pitchero takes each match fee as its own payment; Teamo Autopay collects each player’s 3 match fees in one £18 payment a month.
- £1,089.00 a year (Pro, paid yearly, needed above 20 teams)
- £796.50 on subs (300 payments)
- £630.00 on match fees (2,520 × 25p)
- £383.88 a year (£31.99 × 12, unlimited teams, website included)
- £1,185.00 on subs (300 payments)
- £546.00 on match fees (840 monthly Autopay payments × 65p)
- £400.62 a year less than Pitchero
- £383.88 a year, no contract
- £960.00 on subs (300 payments)
- £470.40 on match fees (840 monthly Autopay payments × 56p)
- £701.22 a year less than Pitchero
Honestly: on these numbers Teamo costs £701.22 a year less than Pitchero Pro by Direct Debit, and £400.62 less by card. On a single card payment Pitchero Pro’s listed rate is lower than Teamo’s, and Pitchero has a lottery and ticketing built in. Teamo comes out ahead on the year because the software costs less, teams are unlimited on every tier, and Autopay collects a month of match fees in one payment.
If your club fits in 20 teams, Pitchero Standard (£418.00 a year, from 2.42% + 17p) comes to £2,364.40 on the same numbers, still £249.52 more than Teamo by card. We used Pitchero’s lowest listed rates (“from”); your actual rate can be higher. Paid one match at a time, Teamo’s own fees would come to £2,450.88 by card: Autopay is where the match-fee saving comes from.
Worked from the published prices below, by standard UK card where not stated. Your own numbers depend on your size, your subs and how members pay. On the call we’ll run them for your club.
Teamo Autopay: a month of match fees in one payment
Every card payment carries a fixed fee, usually 20p, so on a £6 match fee most of the cost is that fixed part. Autopay collects what each member owes in one payment a month, so the club pays one fixed fee instead of 3.
Members save a payment method once
A card or a Direct Debit, one or the other. A parent can be the Autopayer for their children.
Match fees add up
As match fees are charged, the fees go on the member’s account. No paying at the door, and no payment link for every match fee.
One statement a month
At the start of each month Teamo puts everything a member owes the club into one statement and emails it to them. It is collected four days later, so there is time to query an item first.
One fee, not 3
3 match fees paid one at a time by card cost £1.05 in fees. Collected together as one £18 payment: 56p by Direct Debit, 65p by card.
The club sets an Autopay limit for each member, and a statement never goes over it, so set it above a normal month. More in AutoPay and Direct Debit, done properly.

Why hockey clubs move to Teamo
Priced by members, not teams
Every Teamo tier includes unlimited teams, so adding a junior squad or a third women’s side never moves you up a plan.
Match fees collected monthly
Autopay gathers each player’s match fees into one payment a month, by card or Direct Debit, so the club pays one fixed fee instead of one per match.
Team sheets to England Hockey
Send your team sheet, with shirt numbers, and the result to England Hockey’s GMS from the Teamo fixture.
We do the move
Our team sets your club up from your Pitchero export and walks your committee through it. A real person, not a forum.
We move your club across from Pitchero. Free.
Send us your exports and we do the set-up. Most clubs are up and running within 7 days, and you can line it up with the start of your season.
What moves
- Members from a Pitchero export or a spreadsheet, juniors with their parents
- Membership types, subs and renewal dates
- Teams, fixtures and your season calendar
- Club news and pages, rebuilt on your Teamo website
What has to be set up again
- Saved cards and Direct Debit mandates, held by Pitchero’s payment providers
- Payment history: export it before you cancel
- Lottery and ticketing set-ups
Card details and Direct Debit mandates never transfer between platforms, so members set up their payment once on Teamo, usually when subs are next due.

Switching from Pitchero: questions hockey clubs ask
When should we switch from Pitchero?
Pitchero has no long contract, so you can move whenever suits. The easiest time is the summer, before subs are due and the league season starts, so members set up their payment once, on Teamo.
How do match fees work on Teamo?
Each match fee goes on the player’s account. At the start of the month Autopay collects everything they owe in one payment, by card or Direct Debit, after emailing them the statement.
Do our members need to download an app?
No. Members can join and pay on the web from one link. The app is there for chat, availability and reminders if they want it.
What about juniors?
Juniors are linked to their parents, who get the messages and pay. A parent can pay for all their children by Autopay. Club chats are built to be safe for under-18s.
Is there a contract or set-up fee on Teamo?
No contract and no set-up fee. Your tier is set by your member count and changes automatically, with unlimited teams on every tier.
