News Index

The News Index is the central directory of all news articles published on your Teamo club website. It gives every visitor, member, parent, and the public a single place to browse your club's latest updates, announcements, match reports, and stories.

Every time a new article is published, it automatically appears at the top of the index, keeping your website fresh with no extra effort required.

Key things to know:

  • Articles appear in reverse chronological order — newest first
  • The index is publicly visible to anyone who visits your club website, including non-members
  • You can have multiple news indexes in the club which can be organised by club section, making it easy for visitors to find relevant content
  • Only published articles appear, drafts and scheduled articles are not shown
  • Only club admins or users with the appropriate website permissions can create and publish articles

Access

Anyone who is a webmaster can access this part of the platform. They are able to gatekeep what gets posted and what does not. For example, they would be able to allow match reports written by captains onto this page or not!

A tutorial video showing the permissions is being worked on currently.

Why can't I see any articles in my news index?

The News Index will be empty if no articles have been published yet. It only shows articles that have been saved and republished. Drafts and scheduled articles won't appear. If you're an admin, you might want to republish both the individual news article and the news index. Also check the news page has the right tags!

How many articles are shown at once?

Articles are displayed in pages, with the most recent first. As your club publishes more content, older articles move to subsequent pages which visitors can navigate using the page controls at the bottom of the listing.

Can I control what is shown in the news index?

Yes. Only published articles appear IF they have the right tags. To hide an article, untag it from the news index and republish both news index and the article. It will be removed from public view shortly after.

Do visitors need accounts to view articles?

No. The News Index and all published articles are publicly visible to anyone on your club website, no Teamo account or club membership needed. This is great for sharing content with supporters and prospective members.

Can I share a link to a specific article or news index?

Yes. Each article has its own unique URL. Open the article and copy the URL from your browser's address bar to share it via messages, email, or social media.

How do I add a news article?

Head to the Website widget > Page Manager > + (to create a page). Then go through the info modal for the page and select the corresponding layout design. Once you have done this, edit the content of the page, adding the tag at the bottom if it is an info page/article. Once you are happy click save. Remember to republish the page to set it live!

Is the News Index different from the in-app news feed?

Yes. The News Index is part of your public-facing club website, while the in-app news feed is only visible to members logged in to Teamo. They are separate channels, publishing to one does not automatically publish to the other.
