The Featured Reel is your club’s chance to showcase its biggest stories and most important pages! As the first thing visitors see when they arrive at your site, it’s vital to make it impactful and visually appealing.
The Featured Reel is designed to contain 3–5 rotating items, each displaying for 5 seconds. Every item in the reel includes:
- An image
- A headline
- A sub-heading
- A call-to-action button that links to an internal or external page
You can control and manage the reel from the "Featured Reel" panel in the website area.
Default Reels
- Permanent items always displayed on your homepage.
- You can have up to five default reels, but a minimum of three is recommended for a balanced look.
Active Reels
- Temporary items with an expiry date, ideal for time-sensitive promotions (e.g., match reports or event updates).
- When five items are already on the reel, active reels will temporarily replace default reels.
- After an active reel expires, default reels automatically reappear.
- Open the Teamo platform and go to ‘The Club’ area: Navigate to the area on the right side of your homepage.
- Find the published news article you want to feature.
- Click on the article and tap the star icon at the bottom labeled ‘Feature’.
- This sends a notification to the webmasters, who can:
- Approve the request
- Set an expiry date and time
- Publish the article on the reel
You can easily link a Featured Reel item to an external page like your club shop:
Go to the Featured Reel section in the website area (desktop or mobile).
For existing reels:
- Click the reel, and from the Page Link drop-down menu, choose ‘External Link’.
- Enter the URL (or copy and paste it) in the box provided.
For new reels:
- Click ‘Create a Default Item’.
- Add an image, fill in the required fields, and link it to the external page.
You can reorder your default reels but not your active reels. You can do this by heading to the default tab within the featured reel page and using the grippers on the left hand side to drag and drop the reels into the order you want.
If your updates aren’t appearing on the homepage:
- Republish the homepage after making changes.
- To do this:
- Open Page Manager in the website area.
- Click the icon in the top-right corner and select ‘Republish Page’.
